Art Print by Andy Warhol of Marilyn Monroe in his colourful negative style. The print dates from the early sixties when he also produced similar images of Elvis Presley, Elizabeth Taylor and Muhammad Ali. Warhol started out as an illustrator and was at the centre of the pop art scene during the sixties and seventies. He was known for his repetitive use of the same image, most famously using Campbells soup and Coca Cola over and over again. He loved celebrities and Hollywood and the glamour became the focus of his work. Many of his works were produced in his factory where an army of workers produced his work on a huge scale. This Marilyn Monroe poster has to be one of his most famous works and typifies his early style.
