This mural features New York's stunning Chrysler Building in all its classic Art Deco beauty. The building was the headquarters of the Chrysler car cooperation from 1930 until the mid 1950s. The structure took two years to complete with work beginning in 1928. During the time of construction there were rival projects taking place in the city that sought to out do the building in structure. The 38 foot spire was added to finally beat the rival projects and allow the building to become the tallest building in the world for a period of 9 months before the Empire State Building took the title. However, the Chrysler Building holds to this day the title of the worlds tallest steel-supported brick building.
