This mural provides a unique view of the iconic Empire State Building taken from the street. The camera has been angled upwards so that a sense of the actual scale of the building from its foundation can be envisaged. As of 2007 over 21,000 people work in the building everyday making it the second largest office complex in American after the Pentagon. The building held the title of the tallest skyscraper in the world until the construction of the World Trade Centres in 1971. With the destruction of the world trade towers in 2001 the Empire State Building again became the tallest building in New York City. It is currently the third tallest building in the Americas.
