This mural consists of stencil and graffiti placed on a white brick wall to capture a sense of New York's urban and artistic landscape. Graffiti art is an important part of New York culture and can be found in every corner of the city from the upper west side to the outlying boroughs of Queens and Brooklyn. Graffiti in New York started out in the subways. It is only very recently that is has became considered as an art form and not as a means of vandalism. Currently graffiti has been elevated to the level of Street Art and has now become more mainstream, not only as a manifestation of urban culture but as an expression of high art in the city.
